Difference Between the Mercedes Benz Premium 1 Package (P01 Package) and Premium 2 Package (P02 Package) Contents Explained

    • Note the KEYLESS-GO button, heated seats, and rear window sunshade buttons on this 2013 E350 4matic outfitted with the P2 Package. Mercedes Benz, like many other automotive manufacturers, offers packages that include standard options for their vehicles, such as air conditioning. Since around 2005, Mercedes-Benz has utilized their Premium Package line up as a container for big bundles of varied choices, rather than as a group of options that have a defined function in and of itself. Some manufacturers provide a ‘Sport Package,’ which includes particular choices such as tuned suspension and larger wheels, as well as a ‘Winter Package,’ which includes a heated steering wheel, heated seats, and heated exterior mirrors, among other things. Mercedes offers packages that are comparable to this, however their most popular choice packages are the Premium Packages. Mercedes-Benz Premium Packages are a collection of popular luxuries that have traditionally had high ″take rates″ among customers, i.e., features that the majority of people want in their automobiles. Mercedes Benz provides three different premium packages: the Premium 1 Package, the Premium 2 Package, and in select situations, the Premium 3 Package. P1 Package, P2 Package, and P3 Package are the most often used abbreviations for these packages. The P1 and P2 Packages on the Mercedes-Benz E350 Sedan from the 2013 model year will be the focus of this article, which will examine the contents of both packages. Window sticker for a decently equipped 2013 E350 4matic sedan with the P01 Package (see image above) (Premium 1 Package). It’s crucial to remember that Premium Package contents differ by car class with Mercedes-Benz, and even within a single vehicle class within a single body type. The P1 Package for the E class sedan is distinct from the P1 Package for the E class wagon, while the P1 Package for the E class Cabriolet is distinct from both of those. Even more complicated, the P1 Package is constantly changing across all classes and models, making it difficult to keep track of everything, especially when purchasing a Certified Pre-Owned car. The P1 Package for the 2010 will be different from the P1 Package for the 2011. 2013 Mercedes Benz E class Premium 1 Package (P01 Package): This package includes the following features: Harman/Kardon LOGIC7 surround-sound system with Dolby Digital 5.1

    • Camera in the rearview mirror
    • Driver seat with active multicontour (available only on the E63)

    • the Active Ventilated Front Seats package adds Active Ventilated Front Seats)
    • Heated front seats (available on the E350 and E400 only)
    • Power Rear Window Sunshade
    • What is the price of the Premium 1 Package? $4,000 for the E350 / E400 Hybrid. $4,450 for the E550
    • $4,450 for the E63 AMG. One fascinating piece of information that most people are astonished to learn when I share it with them is that. Even though I’ve seen hundreds of 2013 E classes, I’ve never seen one that didn’t come equipped with the Premium 1 Package. Some people claim they don’t need or don’t want navigation, and I don’t want the enhanced sound system
    • instead, I want a ‘basic E class’ (which is normally done to keep the price of the automobile as low as possible
    • after all, it’s always about money). They just do not exist. or, at the very least, do not exist in significant numbers due to the fact that very few people desire such a simple automobile. It is preferable to put a factory order for a car that is not part of the P1 Package, have it built exactly how you want it, and pray you never have to trade it in or sell it as a used car since it will be extremely difficult to sell. The Premium 2 Package (P02) is similar to the P01 Package in that it always includes everything in the P01 Package plus some additional items. 2013 Mercedes Benz E class Premium 2 Package (P02 Package): This package includes the following features: The following features are included: Bi-Xenon headlights with Active Curve Illumination, Adaptive Highbeam Assist, headlamp cleaning system, and corner-illuminating front lamps
    • KEYLESS-GO, an electronic trunk closing, and a rearview camera with parking sensors.
    • Cost of the P02 Package: E350 / E400 Hybrid: $6,450 $6,900 for the E550 E63 AMG is a standard model.
    • There are packages available, but what if you only want the KEYLESS-GO feature and do not want the whole P02 Package?
    • KEYLESS-GO for the 2013 E class is available as a stand-alone option, therefore it is feasible to get the P01 Package car with KEYLESS-GO as a stand-alone option, saving you around $1,500 on the total cost of the vehicle.
    • Another example of stand-alone choices that are combined with other Premium Packages is that some classes provide a separate Lighting Package that includes Bi-Xenon headlamps that are not associated with the P02 Package.
    • Again, there are always exceptions, and if you delve too deeply into the subject, things may become quite convoluted.
    • On this 2013 E350 4matic sedan, the rear vision camera can be seen peeking out from behind the trunk lip near the back license plate, which is another component of the P01 Package.
    1. Making a quick, in-person visit to a dealership with a row of new E classes to inspect will make your life a whole lot simpler!
    2. A dealership after hours is the best option for those who do not want to be ″bothered″ by salespeople.
    3. Walking along a row of new automobiles, looking at the window stickers, and seeing how the cars are really manufactured and optioned can rapidly dispel whatever confusion you may be experiencing at the moment.
    4. It’s possible to spend an eternity on mbusa.com creating your dream automobile, but you’ll be disappointed when you phone a dealer and discover that the unicorn you’ve created does not exist in any dealer inventory.
    5. When this happens, individuals send me an email with the identical automobile they’ve constructed online and tell me that there is a simpler, better, or less expensive method to obtain what they want on a car without having to pay for a lot of extras they don’t actually need.
    6. I’ve never been a fan of ‘base pricing’ advertising in the automobile industry…

However, since I’ve never seen an E class without the $4,000 P01 Package, and if they all have the ″destination and delivery″ price added to them, you can declare that an E class ″starts at $53,500″ (as per the window sticker above). In 2013, the cost of any E class you’d genuinely want to purchase is $58,000 or more.In the end, it is up to each individual potential owner…What do you, the person who is ready to purchase an automobile for more than $60,000, want?Looking for the best bargain (read: cheapest automobile) or do you want exactly what you want in the exact way you want it is what this question is all about.

Perhaps placing a factory order is the best option for you.If you like, you may have it delivered to a European country. If you’re looking for a well-equipped vehicle that makes sense, you’ll most likely find it in the inventory of your local dealer. They can probably do a ‘location’ or a ‘dealer trade, which means they can find what you want and truck it in for you; but, keep in mind that the ‘best offer’ is always on what is currently in stock…

    • The company Mercedes-Benz will build you a pink E class with gold plated wheels if you request it, and with money, you may get anything you desire….
    • However, for the majority of us, a P01 Package E class will suffice as our primary mode of transportation.
    • I’m getting started on compiling a thorough list of all of the Premium 1 and Premium 2 Package items for the most prevalent Mercedes-Benz car classes, starting with the 2008 model year and progressing forward.
    • I’ll post them on the blog as soon as I can.

    P1 and P2

243 posts since joining on March 10th, 2014.28th of July, 2014 – Discussion starter number one For a while now, I’d been noticing references to the E-series Premiere-1 and Premiere-2 packages, and I began to worry whether I’d overlooked something.I’ve just placed an order for a new E250 that will be constructed to my specifications, and I’m certain that I was never offered the P2 option. So I did a little Googling and came up with the following: Differentiation between the Mercedes Benz Premium 1 Package (P01 Package) and the Mercedes Benz Premium 2 Package (P02 Package) (P02 Package) Explaining the Contents |

Dave is well-versed in automobiles. As it turns out, the P1 package is a great collection of optional equipment, but the P2 package contains (includes?) everything in the P1 package as well as fancy headlights, an auto-close trunk, and Keyless-Go as standard equipment.I used the word ″included″ since the article was published for the 2013 model year, and I didn’t see a P2 option for the 2014 model year in the literature.

As it turns out, I had already bought P1 along with the headlights, motorized trunk lid, and Keyless-Go, so I’m in excellent shape there. My only curiosity is as to what happened to P2 this year. Was it dropped as a result of a marketing decision?Or is it available in some markets but not in others, such as the United States?A 2014 Mercedes-Benz E550 4Matic.Panoramic sunroof AMG package intelligent LED Parktronic lane and side assistance The key is 23,450 miles.

It’s possible that MB will really lose money by removing the bundle, but that’s just a wild estimate on my side. For a variety of reasons, I much favor the bundles. The first and most crucial thing to remember is that obtaining a car with all the bells and whistles you like will be tough if you do not have the packages. This implies that each dealership will have to make a judgment on which add-ons to offer, and their selection will be heavily influenced by their own personal preferences.

    1. The likelihood of finding a car with the features that buyers like on the lot is lower, and in today’s world, everyone is addicted to convenience, and few people have the time or patience to purchase a car with their preferences.
    2. Simply said, if you have two or three packages that have all of the possibilities, things appear to run more smoothly.
    3. Is there anyone else who has an opinion on this?

I’m interested in hearing how everyone else thinks about the lack of P2 packages.Participated in 243 discussions and started 4 of them on Mar 10, 2014.That’s not cool.

    4. If the information in the article I linked to is right, the absence of a P-2 option when I placed my purchase would have made a difference to me only if P-2 represented a cost reduction over ordering a la carte at the time.
    5. As things stand, it appears that I am receiving the equivalent of a P-2 merely because I made an unintentional decision to select those alternatives.
    6. And, to be really honest, I like having more alternatives rather than having all of the possibilities grouped together.

Consider the following scenario: P-2 was the only way to obtain the items I want, and P-2 also featured the panoramic roof. Then I’d have been in a pickle, since I certainly do not want a large hole in the ceiling of my new car, which would have been a disaster.(In fact, and this is just my opinion, I would have been quite content to not have even the smaller hole in the roof that I will be getting as standard equipment.) So, yes, I feel that having more granular choices is preferable to offering alternatives in groupings that may contain items that I do not want to see.P-2 may have been withdrawn because dealerships felt the same way, I’m wondering?A 2014 Mercedes-Benz E350 4Matic in Palladium Silver trim with Sport suspension and 18k kilometers.

However, in terms of practicality, the standard sunroof is preferable. Why?Because I enjoy opening the sunroof for ventilation while simultaneously closing the inside panel (screen) to reduce wind noise and glare (especially if the sun is directly overhead). When the panoramic sunroof is open, you can close the inside panel (or screen), but when the roof is tilted up, you can’t.

    • As a result, if the sun is directly overhead, you will have to put up with the extra light, glare, wind noise, and heat in order to benefit from the ventilation.
    • Once again, this is just one man’s opinion.

This is my third vehicle equipped with a Pano roof, and I wouldn’t own a vehicle without it.It is possible to vent the roof and open a back window 2 to 3 inches without experiencing excessive wind noise.I believe they have treated the glass in a specific manner because the car does not become hot inside.

    1. So if you open the moonroof, but close the shade, it will still ventilate.
    2. The way it is designed, movement of the car will create a negative pressure where it will pull the air from inside the car out through the vent and through the open moonroof.

    1. The way they designed the Pano roof the opening is not right over head, it is to the rear more than a regular moonroof.
