While Palm Beach County formerly utilized the number 305, the number began to run out in 1988, necessitating the creation of a new code.New phone numbers from Palm Beach County to Orlando were assigned to the 407 area code, which was the state’s fourth area code at the time. The Public Service Commission is now considering the addition of a third area code for Miami-Dade and Monroe counties to complement the existing 305 and 786 codes. The PSC most recently approved the creation of a new 448 area code for the Panhandle, which had previously been served by the 850 area code; the move became effective in May.In 2019, the new 689 area code was assigned to Central Florida.Residents can obtain further information by contacting their local telephone service provider or by calling the Public Service Commission’s consumer support line at 1-800-342-3552.

Conclusion

  • What is the significance of all of these cities being in South Florida?
  • There are a variety of causes behind this.
  • While other sections of the state of Florida have better year-round weather than South Florida, South Florida also has more amenities than other parts of the state.

Part of what may make this ranking a little perplexing is that we are depending on entire cities rather than taking into account the most expensive neighborhoods in the state of Florida. The typical house price in select high-end islands in the City of Miami Beach (such as Star Island and Fisher Island) can reach several million dollars, while other islands in the city can reach several million dollars. In the aggregate, however, the number of homes in Miami Beach is far smaller when you combine these residences with some of the more affordable condominiums in the city.Additionally, prices in locations with fewer condos (such as Palm Beach) are slightly exaggerated since single-family houses are far more costly than condominiums.
