    This is the most expensive ZIP code in Florida—and it’s not in Miami or Palm Beach

    Florida has a typical house value of $220,500, which is somewhat more than the national average of $213,146.However, in other sections of the Sunshine State, typical house values might be far greater than that.In addition, according to the financial website GOBankingRates, the state’s most costly ZIP code may not be where you expect it to be at all.

    • GOBankingRates gathered median home values and mortgage data from Zillow, as well as cost of living data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics for 48 states and the District of Columbia, in order to identify the nation’s most expensive ZIP codes.

    • In spite of the fact that Miami and Palm Beach both boast property prices higher than the national average in the United States, the state’s most expensive ZIP code is 33921 in the hamlet of Boca Grande, where the average home can be purchased for about $2 million.

    As GOBankingRates explains, ″Florida ZIP code 33921 is located on an island – Gasparilla Island off the coast of Cape Coral,″ according to the company.″Both areas have median house values in excess of $1 million, as well as some of the most costly monthly mortgage payments in the country.″ GOBankingRates uses the 50-30-20 budget rule to figure out how much money you’d need to make to live comfortably in a foreign country.This rule states that 50 percent of your income should go toward necessities, 30 percent should go toward discretionary income, and 20 percent should go toward savings.In an article published by GOBankingRates, the authors explain how they calculated the yearly dollar cost of requirements in each ZIP code by adding up monthly expenditures and multiplying them by 12.
