    • Select the Slide Show tab.

    To begin the slide show with the first slide, select the From Beginning command from the Start Slide Show group and press Enter.

    To begin the slide show using the currently chosen slide, pick the From Current Slide command from the Start Slide Show group and then click OK. This command is handy if you want to see particular slides in Slide Show view but don’t want to see all of them.

    You have the following options in the dialog box: Type of display: This section allows you to alter the default option to presenter if you want to show the slides at a kiosk or booth, or if you want people to look at the slides separately in the PowerPoint window, rather than in the presentation.

    During the presentation, if you want to skip a slide at the beginning or the conclusion, you may do so by entering the slide numbers where you want to start and stop the presentation in this area.

    Show options: In this area, you can choose whether or not to loop the slides constantly or whether or not to play them without any motion if you have added animation to the slides.

    Advance slides: If you have attached time to each slide, you may adjust the slide show settings in this area such that the slides must be forwarded by the user.

    To hide a slide during a presentation:

    • Select the Slide Show option from the drop-down menu.
    • Make a note of the slide that you do not want to appear during the slide show
    • Select the Hide Slide command from the drop-down menu.

    To bring the slide back into view, click the Hide Slide command a second time.

    Packaging a presentation on a CD

    To bring the slide back into view, use the Hide Slide command once more.

    To package a presentation on a CD:

    • Open the presentation you wish to save on the CD and click on ″Save as.″
    • Insert a CD into the CD drive to start the process. Always be sure you use a CD that has the capability of having data burned—or stored—on it.
    • To open Microsoft Office, press the Microsoft Office button.
    • To publish, select Publish.
    • Choose a package for the CD

    It is possible that your presentation’s files will be changed if you link to them from slides in your presentation, and a PowerPoint notification may appear informing you of this. To proceed, click OK.

    • The Package for CD dialog box appears.
    • Enter a name in the Name the CD field.

    The name of the file is displayed in the Files to be copied section, along with the date it was created. If you wish to add more files, pick them from the Add Files dialog box that opens after clicking Add Files. Unless otherwise specified, all files that are linked to from a slide in the presentation are automatically included on the CD.

    • To modify the default configuration that automatically packages linked files on the CD, select Options from the drop-down menu. The Options dialog box will display
    • click OK to close it.
    • If you do not want linked files to be packed automatically, uncheck the Linked Files checkbox.
    • You may also do the following actions from the Options dialog box: Select an option from the drop-down menu to specify how the presentation will be played. Unless you have a large number of presentations, you may leave it as the default
    • Make the selection Embed TrueType Fonts in the presentation so that the fonts you have chosen will appear on the slides regardless of whether or not the machine on which the presentation is being displayed has these fonts
    • Create a password that will allow you to open or edit the packed presentation.
    • To exit the Options dialog box, press the OK button.
    • Click Copy to CD.

    You may see a warning notice if you have included links to other files in your presentation, and you must indicate that you wish to include the linked files in your presentation. If you choose Yes, PowerPoint will copy the files to the CD for you.

    • In order to fulfill this challenge, you can use the Employee Orientation presentation or any other presentation you like. Start a presentation by clicking on the button.

    • You may see the presentation in Slide Show view by selecting From Beginning and From Current Slide commands from inside the Slide Show tab.
    • Make sure that the second slide is not visible in the presentation.
    • Verify whether or not the slide is hidden by viewing the presentation in Slide Show mode.
    • Take a look at the Set Up Show dialogue box.
    • In the event that your computer is equipped with a CD burner, practice burning the presentation to a CD.

    On a Windows desktop, using the Package Presentation for CD function is the most reliable approach to ensure that your PowerPoint presentation, complete with multimedia and all of the typefaces you choose, will play on any PC.

    1. Choose File > Save & Send > Package Presentation for CD from the menu bar. On the screen will show the description for the CD packing.
    2. To package a CD, use the Package for CD button.
    3. The ″Name the CD″ area should be filled up with a name for your CD.
    4. Select the Options button from the toolbar.
    5. Select all of the choices that you wish to consider. All of the options are encouraged, notably ″Embedded True-Type Fonts″ if you employed a typeface that was rare for the time being.
    6. To close the Options window, press the OK button.
    • Now select the Copy to CD option from the drop-down menu.
    • (Be sure that you have already inserted a blank CD-R into the computer’s CD drive before continuing.) If you wish to save your PowerPoint presentation along with all of the connected media and documents into a folder on your computer’s hard drive or onto a jump drive, instead of selecting the Copy to CD button in the Package for CD window, select the Copy to Folder button in the Package for CD window.
    • A popup titled Copy to Folder will appear.
    1. You may keep the folder name as it is by default, ″PresentationCD,″ or you can change it if you like.
    2. Choose a place for your PowerPoint presentation, as well as copies of all associated media and documents, by clicking the Browse button and navigating to the desired spot. This might be the hard disk in your computer or a USB flash drive.
    3. To proceed, click OK.
    • It will be saved within the folder titled ″PresentationCD″ or whatever name you entered in during the preceding step, together with copies of all of your connected media files and documents, as well as an autorun file, PowerPoint viewer, and embedded fonts (if you selected any of these options).
    • The PPT presentation may be accessed from within the newly-created folder, or the contents of the folder can be burned on a CD and sent to others.
    • IMPORTANT: Do not burn the PresentationCD folder on your CD as a standalone.
    • If you want the CD to automatically start when it is inserted, open the folder and burn the files contained within the folder to the CD.

    Taking Presentations on the Road

    • Most of the time, when you make a PowerPoint presentation, the intention is to deliver it from a location other than your office or corporate site. You may even want to ‘take it on the road,’ which means that taking your laptop may not always be an option for you. This would need the copying of your presentation to a portable storage device, such as a USB drive, the burning of your presentation to a CD, or forwarding your presentation to yourself through email. After that, you might transfer it to the computer that you will be using at the place where you will be presenting your work. In computing, a USB drive is a compact data storage device that is both handy and affordable. They connect to your computer’s USB port using a USB cable. Because of their large storage capacity, they are great for replicating PowerPoint presentations, especially when video and audio are included in the presentation. It is possible to package your presentation with fonts, music, videos, and photos using a tool in PowerPoint that automates the process of transferring the package to a CD or portable storage device. PowerPoint makes a copy of everything you need so that you may carry it with you wherever you go. It is more trustworthy than saving the PowerPoint file on a USB drive or sending the PowerPoint file in an email since it assures that you have the complete package.     Packaging for CD

    • The first thing to keep in mind before we get started is that these methods may be utilized to include more than one presentation in a single presentation bundle.
    • In other words, you don’t have to create a separate CD for each presentation; instead, you may combine several presentations onto a single CD.
    • Let’s get this party started.
    • When you start, you should have your presentation (or one of the presentations you wish to package) open.
    • Then follow these steps:
    1. In the ribbon, select the File menu option.
    2. Choose Export from the Options drop-down menu.
    3. Then, select the Package for CD option and then the Package for CD command to complete the process (this will open your Options dialogue box).
    4. Specify a name for the presentation package by entering it in the Name of the CD box field.
    5. Take note that the current presentation file has already been included in the list.
    6. To include other, extra PowerPoint files, select Add from the drop-down menu. The Add button opens a new window where you may choose from a variety of various slide shows. Simply double-click the presentation you wish to see, and then repeat the process for any further slide shows.
    7. Last but not least, choose Copy to CD to begin the CD-burning procedure.

    And, as a last point of clarification, PowerPoint will include a special software in the package called the PowerPoint Viewer that will allow you to see the presentation on a computer that does not have PowerPoint already installed.

    How to Compress Video and Audio Media in PowerPoint to Reduce File Size

    • (Windows) You may compress video and audio files in a PowerPoint presentation to make the presentation’s file size more manageable.
    • Because video and audio media put into a PowerPoint file is automatically incorporated or duplicated into the presentation (as of PowerPoint 2010), video and audio media can greatly increase the file size of the presentation.
    • When you compress media, both video and audio material are compressed at the same time.

    Compressing video and audio media in PowerPoint

    In order to compress video and audio files in a PowerPoint file, do the following:

    1. You should make a duplicate of the PowerPoint presentation containing the video and/or audio files you wish to compress. Rather of linking to media files, they must be embedded. Videos on the internet (such as those on YouTube) will not be compressed.
    2. Open the presentation’s copy in your browser.
    3. In the Ribbon, select the File menu option.
    4. To find out more, go to Info.
    5. Select Compress Media from the Media Size and Performance drop-down menu. A drop-down menu displays, from which you may choose a video quality. HD options are available in both 2019 and 365 days a year. It will conserve space while keeping overall audio and video quality if you use Full HD (1080p). HD (720p) will conserve space while maintaining a level of quality equivalent to that of video streamed over the Internet. When delivering presentations through email, the standard resolution (480p) will save the most space and may be used. In the years 2013 and 2016, the selections are a little more limited. Presentation Quality will conserve space while maintaining the greatest possible level of quality. The quality of the internet will be equivalent to that of material streamed over the internet. Low Quality is the lowest possible quality that is normally suitable for emailing
    6. When you choose a compression quality, a dialog window will show on your screen automatically. When the compression process is complete, PowerPoint will indicate the progress of the procedure as well as the amount of space that has been saved. This procedure may take some time, depending on the size of the media and the amount of video and audio files to be compressed.
    7. When the compression process is complete, click Close.
    • The Compress Media feature will not be available unless the presentation has been enhanced with the inclusion of embedded media.
